About George M Montgomery

George M Montgomery grew up in Oklahoma, where his fascination with machines began early. As a boy, he built a homemade go-kart from 2×4 lumber and a vintage washing machine engine. By high school, he was fine-tuning a 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air.

In adulthood, his passion for cars expanded to British classics — Triumph Spitfires, a TR4, and a TR6 — leading him across the country to car shows, autocrosses, and rallies.

For 20 years, George ran a successful tax accounting practice in Oklahoma City before taking his office on the road — literally — in a 35-foot motorhome. For 15 years, he traveled the US while running a virtual tax and business consulting practice.

In 2018, he retired from consulting to focus on creative writing. Since then, he has written several short stories and memoirs. The Autoist, his debut novel, tells the story of the adventurous life he might have lived in the early 1900s — a life driven by speed, innovation, and imagination.
